Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Hearth Minders. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our house-sitting services (the "Services"). By engaging Hearth Minders, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before using our Services.

2. Definitions

  • Client: The individual or entity requesting house-sitting services.

  • Service Provider: Hearth Minders and its representatives providing the Services.

  • Property: The home and premises for which services are being provided.

 

3. Services Provided

Hearth Minders agrees to provide house-sitting services as outlined in the service agreement. Services may include, but are not limited to, property security checks, plant care, pet care, mail collection, and general property oversight. Additional services may be provided as agreed upon in writing.

 

4. Client Obligations The Client agrees to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information regarding the Property and any specific requirements.

  • Ensure the Service Provider has access to the Property during the agreed-upon service period.

  • Provide detailed instructions for any specialized tasks, including pet care and maintenance needs.

  • Notify Hearth Minders of any potential hazards, security systems, or special conditions on the Property.

 

5. Payment Terms

  • Payment for Services must be made in accordance with the pricing agreed upon at the time of booking.

  • Hearth Minders reserves the right to require a deposit to secure the booking.

  • Full payment is due upon completion of the Services unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Late payments may incur additional fees.

 

6. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Cancellations made more than [X] days in advance of the service start date may qualify for a full refund.

  • Cancellations made within [X] days of the service start date may incur a cancellation fee.

  • No refunds will be provided for cancellations made after the service period has commenced.

 

7. Liability and Insurance

  • Hearth Minders is insured for general liability and will take reasonable care to provide services in accordance with the agreement.

  • The Service Provider is not liable for damages or losses caused by third parties or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, break-ins).

  • The Client agrees to indemnify and hold Hearth Minders harmless against any claims arising from inaccurate information or failure to disclose relevant details.

 

8. Confidentiality

Hearth Minders respects the privacy of its clients. All information provided by the Client will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of providing Services.

 

9. Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, Hearth Minders will make every reasonable effort to contact the Client and follow provided instructions. If the Client cannot be reached, the Service Provider may take necessary actions to protect the Property and its occupants.

 

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement with written notice. Refunds or payments due will be handled in accordance with the cancellation policy.

 

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in British Columbia.

12. Amendments

Hearth Minders reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Clients will be notified of any changes in writing prior to their next service engagement.

 

13. Acceptance

By engaging Hearth Minders, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
